Last We Left You...

...we had just officially been put on the list. Four months later and we are still waiting. During this time, we always manage to make up another list of all the things that we should accomplish before we get our call. When one list is complete, we make another.

Since our last post, I have finished my project for the baby's room. At first when explaining it to Chris, he was nervous to say the least. As I worked on it, the nerves didn't settle. Finally in the end, he said, "Is this what you had in mind from the beginning? It is really cool." Of course, that made it all worth it.

The project is a storyboard of sorts explaining how our adoption process came to be. It highlights all those who agreed to be our references, our family members, our social worker, and even our dogs. The project itself became quite the process but has now found its home hanging above the changing table. It turned out to be 24 in. by 50 in., and it is perfect!

I am debating if at this time, I want to post pictures of it. It is so personal and something I am kind of keeping secret until the moment comes. We will see how long I can wait.

Before, I also mentioned that Chris was working on a project of his own. His project has not made much progress at all. This could be due to the fact that I needed his help a lot for my project, and also because Chris wants to really personalize it. He has paint colors picked out and the materials needed. For now, though, he is waiting.

Our current list is made up of helping my parents renovate their house. Chris works on Saturdays, so I have been over there helping them rip up carpet, pick out paint colors, and going through closets. When Chris gets home, he usually comes over to help. Since we started this, he has ripped out a wall and cabinets. He has updated their electrical and put in really cool light fixtures. Currently, we are getting the painting done and have ordered the carpet. It sounds like a lot of work, but it has been quite fun. This house has been in my family for around 40 years now. It is overdue for this makeover!

For now, this is all I've got.

Blessings,
Chris and Sara
